Cloudflare One Virtual Appliance downloads now live right in the dashboard!

Hey everyone, it's Shii! Today I've got a small but handy update for anyone running Cloudflare One!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

Cloudflare's changelog announced that you can now download the Cloudflare One Virtual Appliance directly from the Connectors page in the dashboard. Just go to Connectors, select Add an appliance, then Virtual appliance, and pick your hypervisor to grab the matching appliance right there.

Here are the hypervisors it supports:

  • VMware ESXi (download the OVA image)
  • Proxmox (download the install script)
  • libvirt/KVM (download the install script)

You can also click View setup guide to open the deployment instructions for whichever platform you picked.

The story so far

Self-serve registration and license key generation for the Cloudflare One Virtual Appliance were already available in the dashboard. But to actually get the appliance image or script itself, you had to go look up the asset URL yourself.

What changes

Now you don't need to hunt down an asset URL — picking your hypervisor and downloading it all happens right inside the Connectors page. It's an addition to the existing self-serve registration and license key flow, not a replacement. For anyone about to deploy the Cloudflare One Virtual Appliance, that first step just got a lot easier.

Wrap-up

  • The Cloudflare One Virtual Appliance can now be downloaded directly from the Connectors page in the dashboard
  • Supported hypervisors are VMware ESXi, Proxmox, and libvirt/KVM
  • VMware ESXi gets an OVA image; Proxmox and libvirt/KVM get an install script
  • View setup guide takes you straight to the deployment instructions
  • This complements the existing self-serve registration and license key generation feature

If you're about to deploy the Cloudflare One Virtual Appliance on your own hypervisor, this update is for you!
