EC2 M8a Lands in Mumbai! The Next-Gen AMD EPYC General-Purpose Instance!

What was announced?
Over on the AWS What's New feed, the general-purpose instance Amazon EC2 M8a is now generally available in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. M8a is a balanced instance built on 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors (code named Turin), pairing compute, memory, and networking.
The story so far
Up until now, if you wanted an AMD-based general-purpose instance in Mumbai, the previous-generation M7a was the go-to. M8a is its successor, and it's been rolling out to more regions bit by bit. With this Mumbai addition, folks around India who care about latency can now pick M8a too.
What changes
Since this is a new generation, the internals genuinely got better. AWS says M8a delivers up to 30% higher performance and up to 19% better price-performance versus M7a. Memory bandwidth is 45% higher too, so memory-hungry workloads should feel it.
Good fits include financial applications, gaming, rendering, application servers, simulation modeling, mid-size data stores, dev environments, and caching fleets.
