What was announced?
On AWS's What's New, Amazon EC2 announced that its newest instance type, R8a, is now available in the Asia Pacific (Taipei) region. It's the latest generation of memory-optimized instances.

- Processor: 5th generation AMD EPYC (code-named Turin), up to 4.5 GHz
- Performance: up to 30% higher than R7a

- Memory bandwidth: 45% higher than R7a
- GroovyJVM processing: up to 60% faster than R7a
- SAP-certified, with 38% more SAPS than R7a
What changes
This matters directly if you're running latency-sensitive workloads in Taipei.
