What was announced?
From the AWS What's New feed: Amazon EC2 High Memory U7in-24TB instances are now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Seoul) region. Just like the name says, these pack a whopping 24 TiB of memory.
The story so far
Giant databases like SAP HANA that load everything into memory are hungry for RAM. Until now, Seoul didn't offer this 24 TiB class, so if you wanted to run one you had to look at other regions.
What changes
Now you can spin up a 24 TiB memory instance right in Seoul. For teams that need to keep data inside Korea or want low latency, this really opens up the options. It targets mission-critical in-memory databases like SAP HANA, Oracle, and SQL Server.
