What was announced?

AWS What's New announced that Amazon WorkSpaces Core Managed Instances now supports Graphics G7 instances, powered by NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and Intel Xeon 6 processors.

What changes

G7 delivers up to 2.1x better performance for graphics-intensive workloads compared to the previous generation G6. You can run demanding professional applications such as CAD/CAM, 3D rendering, scientific visualization, video editing, and AI-assisted design at higher fidelity and frame rates.

Dive Deep

The specs:

  • GPU memory: 32 GB of GDDR7 per GPU, with 2.67x faster memory bandwidth, enabling larger and more complex 3D scenes and models
  • Sizes: six, with 1 to 8 GPUs, 8 to 192 vCPUs, and 32 GB to 768 GB of system memory
  • OS: Linux and Windows, including bring-your-own-license

It is available in these four Regions, with more to be added as availability expands:

  • US East (N. Virginia)
  • US East (Ohio)
  • US West (Oregon)
  • Europe (Spain)

To get started, specify an instance type from the G7 family when creating a new WorkSpaces Core Managed Instance. Through a WorkSpaces Core partner solution, look for G7 types when they become available.
