AWS Agent Registry Lands in London, Frankfurt, Ohio, and Canada!
Hi, it's Shii-chan! Today I have some great news about AI agent infrastructure expanding to more Regions!
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
According to AWS What's New, AWS Agent Registry is now available in four additional AWS Regions!
The new Regions are:
- Europe (London), eu-west-2
- Europe (Frankfurt), eu-central-1
- US East (Ohio), us-east-2
- Canada (Central), ca-central-1
That brings the total to nine Regions.
Why it matters
AWS Agent Registry is a fully managed discovery service offered through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. It gives you one central catalog to organize, curate, and discover resources across your organization.
As the number of agents and tools grows, it gets hard to know what lives where. A central catalog helps with that, and now it is available in more places.
What changes
Teams running agent workloads in London, Frankfurt, Ohio, or Canada (Central) can now use the registry in the same Region.
The announcement doesn't go into more detail, but more Regions generally means more choice for teams that want to operate close to where they already run.
Dive Deep
Here is what AWS Agent Registry lets you do:
- Publish MCP servers, tools, agents, agent skills, and custom resources into a searchable registry
- Control access through an approval workflow
- Let both people and AI agents find the right tools and agents through hybrid search, catalog browsing, and a native MCP endpoint
For the full list of Regions, see the AWS Regional Services List. To get started, check the Registry documentation in the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore developer guide.
