S3 Express One Zone Lands in Frankfurt — Up to 10x Faster, 80% Cheaper!
Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Here's some news for anyone running storage workloads in Europe!
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
According to AWS What's New, the Amazon S3 Express One Zone storage class is now available in the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) Region.
S3 Express One Zone is a high-performance storage class built for a single Availability Zone, designed to deliver consistent single-digit millisecond data access for your most frequently accessed data and latency-sensitive applications.
The story so far
Before this Frankfurt addition, S3 Express One Zone was available in 7 AWS Regions, but it hadn't reached a European region yet.
So customers running services near Frankfurt who wanted low-latency storage either had to pick a faraway region or look at other options.
What changes
With Frankfurt added, S3 Express One Zone is now available in 8 AWS Regions. Customers running services in Europe can now use this high-performance storage class in a region close to them.
Compared to S3 Standard, S3 Express One Zone delivers data access up to 10x faster and request costs up to 80% lower. That makes it a great fit for workloads where speed matters, like machine learning training, interactive analytics, and key-value caching for AI search engines.
