Say goodbye to creating Cloudflare Tunnel and Mesh routes one at a time!

Hey everyone, I'm Shii-chan! Today's find makes managing your Cloudflare network setup a bit less tedious.

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

According to the Cloudflare Changelog, you can now create multiple Cloudflare Tunnel and Cloudflare Mesh routes at once from the Routes page, instead of one at a time. Here's what you can do:

  • Enter a comma-separated list of CIDR ranges or hostnames to add multiple destinations in one go
  • Queue up multiple routes of different types or connectors before creating them all in a single action
  • If some routes fail, the ones that succeeded are automatically removed from the form, so you only need to fix and resubmit the failures

The story so far

Until now, creating routes from the Routes page meant submitting one route at a time. For networks with many sites, registering CIDR ranges or hostnames one by one was a slow, tedious process.

What changes

Connecting multiple sites to Cloudflare Tunnel or Cloudflare Mesh now takes a lot less manual work.

What's particularly nice is how failures are handled: if an invalid CIDR sneaks into a batch, the routes that succeeded are automatically cleared from the form, so you don't have to hunt for which ones failed — you just fix and resubmit the rest.

This bulk-creation Routes UI was already available for Cloudflare WAN static routes, so this update extends the same mechanism to Tunnel and Mesh routes.

Wrap-up

  • You can now create Cloudflare Tunnel / Cloudflare Mesh routes in bulk from the Routes page
  • Enter multiple CIDR ranges or hostnames as a comma-separated list
  • Queue routes of different types and connectors, then create them all in one action
  • Successful routes are auto-removed on partial failure, so you only fix and resubmit what failed
  • This extends the bulk-creation UI that Cloudflare WAN static routes already had to Tunnel and Mesh

This one's for infrastructure folks running multi-site networks on Cloudflare One!
